“Chicago Italians and Catholicism” is the title of Loyola University Chicago’s Conference, sponsored by its Joan and Bill Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage November 8 and 9, 2913

We warmly invite you and members of your parish and patron saint societies to participate by sharing your personal stories and parish histories in sessions that will take place on Sat. Nov. 9 on Loyola’s Lakeshore Campus.

There is no charge to attend the conference. Light lunches both days and a reception on Friday will give attendees an opportunity to network. The 2 day event will close with a 5pm Mass (celebrated by Fr. Michael Garanzini and Fr. August Feccia) on Sat. afternoon which fulfills your weekend obligation.

Since the conference is multi-faceted, we would also like to include art work, banners, statues, and exhibits that help tell the story of YOUR Italian Catholic parish or patron saint society. Loyola will take responsibility for the transport if your wish to display at the conference.

Please take a moment to evaluate how you and your group might fit into this ambitious effort to document, share, and preserve the religious aspect of the Chicago Italian experience. Contact Dominic Candeloro at 847-951-9109 or by email Candeloro@CasaItaliaChicago.org.
