We received information this week from a researcher in Southern Italy. We do not endorse this researcher, only provide the information as a potential contact.

My name is Laura Lee Watson and I am an Independent Italian Heritage Specialist in Southern Italy.  I am a third generation Italian/American expat living in Catanzaro, and I specialize in doing Heritage tours in Calabria and Sicily and Campania.  I moved to Italy in 2005 and became passionate about bringing Italian Americans home to their roots to discover where and how there ancestors lived and connecting them with living relatives.  I took myself through this process more than eight years ago when I visited my Italian ancestry villages, met and developed relationships with distant cousins and had my dual citizenship recognized.  I work with other Italian genealogists and travel specialists and I wanted to make you aware of my services if you find that you or your members have the need for a local researcher, interpreter, village photographer and or guide.

I am accepting applications for a “Homecoming Experience” or  free ancestry research.  I will select the most compelling story and offer my services Pro Bono and the story will be featured in a special publication.  The application deadline is the 31st of January 2014.  Applications will be received via my Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/DiggingUpRootsInTheBoot and the selected applicant will be notified by March 1st 2014.
