Chicago Area Genealogy Meetings, Conferences and Workshops

This resource page is a work in progress and meant to be a guide to area societies. Please check each society’s page for additional details about meeting locations, opportunities, conferences, workshops, and additional resources.

Chicago Genealogical Society

  • Monthly meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month. Most meetings are held at 1:00 p.m. Special event meetings such as bus tours vary in start time.

DuPage County Genealogical Society

  • 2013 Conference, February 23 in St. Charles, IL.
  • Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. networking time. 7:00 p.m. meeting and speaker.

Fountaindale Library Genealogy Group (Blog)

  • Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month. 7:00 p.m. meeting and speaker.
  • Genealogy Day conference held in April.

Fox Valley Genealogical Society

  • 2013 Conference, September 28. Details to follow.
  • Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. September through June (Except December.) 7:30 p.m. meeting and speaker.

Illinois Genealogical Society

  • No monthly meetings. Annual conference.

Kane County Genealogical Society

  • Monthly meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month. 7:30 p.m. meeting and speaker.

McHenry Genealogical Society

  • Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. 6:45 meeting and speaker.

Schaumburg Library Genealogy Group (Blog)

  • Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month. 7:00 networking time. 7:30 speaker.
